Yesterday the Russian designer presented his ‘Save and Survive’ themed AW16 collection lookbook, which debuted at Paris Men’s Fashion Week in January. The collection features many "post soviet"skate and street inspired pieces, including double-sleeved, oversized knitwear, text beanies, and branded suspenders. Cyrillic script, one of the designer's signatures, is present on almost every piece, enhancing also the design of the Reebok Classics and Vans Half Cabs featured sneakers. He has also premiered a new short movie, capturing the build-up to the show which saw streetcast models, including London-based photographer Tom Emmerson. This premiere comes in the wake of Rubchinskiy announcing that his Spring/Summer 2017 collection would debut at June’s Pitti Uomo trade show. “I wanted to do something unexpected,” said Rubchinskiy, in an interview with The Business of Fashion. “A Russian designer showing streetwear at Pitti – that’s definitely something people don’t expect to see.” Shop now Gosha Rubchinskiy SS16
