At the end of 2015, it was reported that Christopher Nolan’s next film would be based on World War II. The war epic, titled Dunkirk, has just released its first heart-pounding teaser trailer. The film stars Tom Hardy, newcomer Fionn Whitehead, and Mark Rylance of Bridge of Spies, with music from the legendary Hans Zimmer. The film will revolve around the story of Operation Dynamo, a last-ditch effort to evacuate 300,000 soldiers from the harbor of Dunkirk, France, who were surrounded by Nazi troops. Dunkirk, written and directed by Nolan, was also shot with his Interstellar cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema using 65 mm and IMAX film cameras. The film is set to be released on July 19, 2017.
