Rick Owens just opened a new store in Los Angeles. The Porterville, California, born designer got back to his roots. It's said that "in Hollywood you can invent yourself" and this is probably what happened to Rick Owens: L.A. is where the designer shaped his future, studying fashion design at Otis College of Art & Design first, and then pattern-making and draping at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, before moving to Europe/becoming one of the most important, inspiring and creative designer, artist, human being of our generation. The store is a 1920s former ribbon factory located in North La Brea Avenue, 450 square metre building, homage to American filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille, renovate by architect Anna Tumaini, who also worked with Owens for his other stores and private apartments (we are talking about more than nine years of collaboration, just saying). Rick Owens stores are also located in Paris, London, Milan, New York, Miami, Seoul, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
