Nike and Off-White have finally confirmed some more detail about their collaborative sneaker collection. It is split in two packs, the first one has been developed around the theme of “REVEALING” and it includes an Air Jordan I, Nike Air Max 90, Nike Air Presto, Nike Air VaporMax and Nike Blazer Mid. The last one will be pre-released at NikeLab locations during SS18 fashion weeks in September in New York, London, Milan and Paris. The second pack of the collection is titled “GHOSTING" and consists in a Nike Air Max 97, React Hyperdunk, Air Force 1, Zoom Vaporfly and Chuck Taylor All-Star. An official worldwide release will be available for all the 10 models of shoes in November at NikeLab stores and selected retailers.
Also, Virgil Abloh will be launching “a destination for the advancement of sport, design and innovation” called Off Campus, according to Business of Fashion. The space will reach multiple locations around the world, including 23 Wall Street in New York on September 6 to 8 and in London from 14 to 17, during fashion weeks in each respective city.
“Most of the creative decisions were made in the first three hours, while actual design and iteration took two to three days,” Abloh states to Nike. “The Jordan I was done in one design session. I work in a very dream-like state. I see it, and it’s done.” Virgil used always a simple X-ACTO knife to develop design processes, which sees all 10 of the Nike silhouettes treated to a deconstructed aesthetic, with rearranged Swooshes and industrial branding reading “VULCANIZED” and “FOAM.”
