JUST DO IT
Nike history begins when two visionary men, Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight, start their revolution in the athletic footwear industry in 1950s. The name was born in 1971 thanks to the intuition of Jeff Johnson, a runner whom Knight met at Stanford and the first designers of several early Nike shoes. Later, Bowerman and Knight selected a brand mark, the famous “Swoosh”, which was created by a graphic design student at Portland State University, Carolyn Davidson. The new Nike line footwear collection debuted in 1972: the rest is history.
