Here we are with the last days of Paris Fashion Week, and there's no better way to close the event with one of the most avantgarde designers like Rick Owens. Dubbed "TECUATL", the collection has many references to Owens' Mexican heritage. The name of the collection takes up the maiden name Mixtec of the designer's grandmother, who was born as a personal reaction to president Donald Trump's ongoing plans to build a wall on the border between the United States and Mexico.

The line is composed of neutral colors and cuts synonymous with the aesthetics of Owens, such as black, white and bone, oversized coats, but also sees a range of bold new looks for this season. Among the extraordinary pieces of Rick Owens SS20 are the myriad of iridescent pieces, in particular the long leather trench with matching wide trousers, the leather blazer and the double pocket coat with belt. Rick Owens also debuted the collaboration with Champion, wearing sportswear he wore in the 70s and reinterpreting them as togas, loincloths and panties, which feature a tone-on-tone Champion "C" logo embroidered inside a star shaped symbol. Other important looks of the Paris catwalk include the gold sequined coat, a bomber jacket with funnel neck in black satin and the selection of leather trousers with tassels. Rick Owens also presented a series of new footwear offerings for SS20, seeing a pair of platform heeled boots, an updated version of the leather hiking boot "DIRT", a range of new sandals and a daring pair of sneakers wrapped in lace reminiscent of the Sneaker Running SS19.
