The well known American brand featured Nike: ON AIR contest on May 13th, and today the sportwear icon has announced the six winning sneakers created by as many amateur designers. In July, they’ll head to Nike’s Beaverton HQ to develop physical iterations of their models. The Air Max 97 was the most popular silhouette for the event, with Jasmine Lasode taking the highest number of votes for her “London Summer of Love” 97. Gwang Shin and Cash Ru also reimagined the iconic sneaker with different colorways inspired by their home cities. Meanwhile Gabrielle Serrano and Yuta Takuman remastered two other heritage models: the Air Max 98 and Air Max 1. to finish the list, Lou Matheron received a great response with her innovative take on the newest model of the brand, the Air VaporMax Plus.
